Established in 1954, Formosa Plastics Group has now more than 120 subsidiaries, four charitable Organications in the healthcare and education industries, which altogether contribute to a complete group of companies.

FPG combines the logos of its subsidiaries as a joint symbol to display the vertical and horizontal connections and collaborations between these companies, which carry the meaning of harmony. It symbolizes FPG's consistency and liveliness, as well as its continuous and strong capacity for progress. The representative symbol of each subsidiary is inspired by the imagery of Chinese characters, which is aimed at promoting the wonderful traditional traditions of the Chinese culture. Also, their simple yet powerful forms are extremely memorable.

Main Meaning: Lively and Indefinitely Continuous

  • Formosa Plastic Corporation

    Deriving from the character "台 (tai)," the symbol represents Formosa Plastic Corporation. Since the company is the foundation of FPG, it is placed at the top of the logo.
  • Nan Ya Plastics Corporation

    This symbol represents Nan Ya Plastics Corporation. Inspired by the character "亞 (ya)," it is used as a representative icon of the company. Since Nan Ya is a secondary processing factory, it is place at the center of the logo.
  • Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation

    This symbol represents Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation The symbol uses the upper part of the character "糸 (xi)," which resembles "台 (tai)." The two hexagons symbolize the basic sign for chemical structures and are partially overlapped to emphasize that FCFC is a chemical company.
  • Formosa Petrochemical Corporation

    This symbol represents Formosa Petrochemical Corp. It is inspired by the character "石 (shi)," as in "石油 (oil)."
  • Nan Ya Technology Corporation

    This symbol represents Nan Ya Technology Corporation. The two intertwined ovals look like  the character "亞 (ya)," as in "南亞 (Nan Ya)," rotating 45°.  It also symbolizes electronic circuit. The two little circles, with one being hollow and the other being solid, represent positive and negative electric charges.
  • Chang Gung Hospitals

    This symbol represents Chang Gung Hospitals. It is inspired by the character "十 (shi)," which is also an image for hospitals or health care.
  • Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation

    This symbol represents Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation. "FHS" is the abbreviation of Formosa Ha Tinh Steel Corporation.
  • Chang Gung University

    This symbol represents Chang Gung University. "CGU" is the abbreviation of Chang Gung University, while the diamond shape on top resembles a graduate cap.
  • Formosa Plastics Marine Corporation

    This symbol represents Formosa Plastics Marine Corporation. The element in the middle is an alteration of the character "台 (tai)," which also means ships.
  • Formosa Heavy Industries Corporation

    This symbol represents Formosa Heavy Industries Corporation. The element in the middles is an alteration of the character "工 (gong)," taken from "重工 (heavy industries)."
  • Ming Chi University of Technology

    This symbol represents Ming Chi University of Technology. It is a combination of "明 (ming)" and "工 (gong)."
