Through years of weaving experience and a world-class R&D team, Formosa Plastics Group brings customers the most comfortable and safest products.
Textile and fiber products are mainly used in clothing. However, with the development of new materials and the evolution of production technology, the scope of application continues to increase. These products can be found in a wide range of sectors, including the traditional ready-made garment industry, and technology-related sectors, such as healthcare, aerospace and defense, filtration, environment, transportation and communications, architecture, sports and leisure, etc.
Known as the Silicon Valley of the textile industry, Taiwan is a research and development center for the global textile industry. With supplies of raw materials, talents, technological innovation, and marketing resources, Taiwan has cradled many world-class textile companies, and FPG is one of them. FPG's products include three major synthetic fibers: nylon, polyester and acrylic fiber, which are made into staple fiber, yarn, filament and other fiber products, as well as textile products such as raw fabrics, colored fabrics and carpets. With an integrated approach, FPG's production scale makes it one the world's leading manufacturers. The applications of FPG's products include functional clothing, shoe materials, building materials, bedding materials, ointment patches, tire cords, airbags and electronic parts.
FPG quickly responds to changes in market demand and promotes an eco-friendly life style.
In recent years, the living standards have improved, and more and more attention has been paid to the comfort and functionality of clothing, such as anti-ultraviolet, anti-bacterial, anti-wrinkle, anti-static, anti-splashing, cooling, heat insulation and warmth. In pursuit of "sustainable environmental protection," "smart textiles" and "functional applications," FPG has also developed new fiber products such as anti-ultraviolet fibers, comfortable elastic fibers and PP fibers. The double-layer fabric woven with PP fibers wicks away moisture from the inside; thus, it reduces sweating and dries quickly, suitable for sports and leisure fabrics.
In terms of textile products, FPG has developed fabrics dyed without water. The dyeing process does not require water and dyeing agents, thereby achieving the goals of environmental protection and energy conservation. Considering the emergence of wearable smart devices, FPG also uses textile technology to develop smart clothes. Combining voice control systems and LED lighting, the products are connected with the mobile phone APP to achieve "safety" and "entertainment."
In the face of globalized markets and trading, FPG accelerates the planning of its global operations by integrating production resources in Taiwan, the United States, Vietnam and China. Based on FPG's competitive strengths advantages in different countries, FPG coordinates its product combination and sales channels to overcome tariffs and trade barriers. At the same time, in conjunction with the internal creative design center, FPG provides customers with information about colors in vogue and pattern design services for different types of clothing. New products and new applications are regularly displayed in various large influential exhibitions to strengthen the marketing of FPG's textile and fiber products.
In addition to market expansion, FPG continues to develop eco-friendly green products to protect the environment. Also, efforts are made into increasing the proportion of recycled raw materials. FPG adopts the EU REACH standards and non-fluorocarbon agents, and uses molasses -- the byproduct of sugar refining -- to develop new eco-friendly fibers. Moreover, the nylon products made of recycled materials and recycled eco-friendly nylon fabrics have not only won the national green label, but also gained the recognition of international brands such as Nike and Adidas, for which FPG produces sportswear for occasions such as the Brazil World Cup. All these achievements have led FPG's textile and fiber business to a bright new future.

Chemical Fiber
Chemical fiber is mainly made of chemical raw materials refined from petroleum (the raw material of rayon is wood), and is extruded by polymerization. According to the characteristics of the original fiber, it can be made into products for different purposes. In addition to filament products, it can be made into chips, sheets, staple fiber, and films according to customer needs.
Textile Products
After fibers go through the weaving process, they can be made into a variety of fabrics with different tactile properties and functions using different weaving methods.
