The Formosa LOHAS Circles held its first road running event on May 27th in Taoyuan. Mayor of Taoyuan City Cheng Wen-Tsan, Sandy Wang (Standing Member of FPG Executive Management Committee), Lin Shan-Chih (General Manager of General Management Office), Ma Chih-Kang (Chair of Global Mall), and over 2,500 runners and local residents joined the event.

Mayor Cheng said in his speech that Hwa Ya Technology Park is the prettiest technology park in Taiwan. The organizer's decision to hold a road running event here has a deep meaning for the city and he would like to express gratitude to Formosa Plastics Group's Formosa LOHAS Circles for its consistent contributions to the local communities and promotion of local tourism with its concept of "Wonderful and Healthy Living."

Sandy Wang (Standing Member of FPG Executive Management Committee) said in her speech that she personally visited Mayor Cheng in March 2015 and presented the Formosa LOHAS Circles Project, hoping to combine this project with the city government, other enterprises, and surrounding businesses to help promote Taoyuan's tourism industry. Wang expressed her gratitude for Mayor Cheng's enormous support. The units/companies that participated in this event included Formosa Plastics Corporation, Nan Ya Plastics, Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation, Formosa Petrochemical Corp., Formosa Biomedical Technology Corporation, i Health Management Center, Chang Gung Health and Culture Village, and Formosa Plastics Group Museum. In addition, the Taoyuan Sake Brewery, Fullon Hotel, Global Mall, A8 commercial district, Dagumountain Leisure Agriculture Area in Luzhu, and local businesses participated in the event. In particular, the event purchased locally produced vegetables to support local smallholder farmers.

Formosa LOHAS Cup Taoyuan Road Running was divided into two groups: 3 km and 12 km. The gifts included moisture wicking sports T-Shirt, sports towels, ice cups, finishing medals, certificates and surprise super-value bags. Also, participants could win free accommodation vouchers provided by Fullon Hotel (Taoyuan Airport MRT A8). This year, pineapple farmers have enjoyed great harvests, but the pineapples grown by the Pingtung Social Welfare Group have not been selling well. The organizer especially purchased the pineapples to give to runners for free at the event and hoped that the public could support more rural children.
