Formosa Waters Tech Strategically Allies with Global Water Treatment Leader Ecolab.

To deepen its strategic presence in water resource management and the green sustainable indus-try, Formosa Waters Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Formosa Waters Tech), a subsidiary of Formosa Biomedical, officially held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony on May 27 with Ecolab, the global leader in water treatment chemical technology. This powerful alliance between two industry leaders marks the beginning of a brand-new chapter for the com-prehensive smart upgrading of industrial water treatment in Taiwan.

The high-profile signing ceremony was attended by core senior executives from both sides in at-tendance. Representing Formosa Enterprises were Ruey Yu Wang, Chairperson of Formosa Waters Tech and Formosa Biomedical; Liu Hui-chi, General Manager of Formosa Biomedical; and Tseng Huan-chung, General Manager of Formosa Waters Tech. Ecolab was represented by its Taiwan General Manager, Pu-Jen Tu, who led the core executive team to co-sign the strategic cooperation agreement in both Chinese and English, witnessed by representatives from both parties.

Formosa Waters Tech's proven track record across diverse sectors—including petrochemicals, co-generation, steel, electronics, and medical industries both inside and outside the enterprise group—combined with its extensive expertise in water treatment processes in the high-tech semi-conductor industry in recent years, and its outstanding on-site, real-time service and application capabilities, served as the core catalyst for this transnational alliance with Ecolab.

In the first phase of cooperation, Formosa Waters Tech will take over the water treatment systems for cooling, boilers, and manufacturing processes of Ecolab within the Formosa Group. Moving forward, the partnership will extend to three core visions:

1.Technical Cooperation and Value Innovation: Combining Ecolab’s extensive experience in global water treatment chemical R&D with Formosa Waters Tech's foundation in water treat-ment engineering, equipment manufacturing, and local networks in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region. Both parties will jointly promote innovative R&D to develop integrated water treatment solutions that meet the needs of Formosa Enterprises and external clients, creating higher added value.

2.Strategic OEM for Manufacturing Synergy: Fully utilizing Formosa Enterprises' top-tier pro-duction and R&D capabilities. In the initial stage, priority will be given to local contract manu-facturing cooperation with "Formosa Biomedical" for Ecolab's cleaning product lines. In the medium to long term, the plan is to advance toward strategic OEM manufacturing for ad-vanced water treatment process chemicals, positioning Formosa Waters Tech as a strategic production partner for Ecolab to extend its manufacturing advantages.

3.AI Integration to Drive Sustainable ESG: Echoing both parties' strategies for digital transfor-mation and sustainable development. In addition to continuing the R&D of green, eco-friendly chemicals that comply with ESG standards, both sides will introduce AI intelligence and cloud infrastructure deployment. Committed to environmental protection and sustainable water re-source utilization, the two companies will work together to create a brand-new landscape for the green industry.
