FPG and Wang Chang-Gung Charity Trust collaborated with Chiayi County Government in implementing social welfare projects, and were invited to attend the "2022 Supply Bank Sends Love, Love to Share Event"

FPG and Wang Chang-Gung Charity Trust (founder: Yung-Ching Wang) began donating to the "Development Support Program for Children and Teenagers from Vulnerable Families" of Chiayi County in 2021, and assisted underprivileged children with expenses for school and as they grow. As of the first half of 2022, the program has benefited 319 people in 182 families by providing NT$2.4 million in subsidies.

FPG and Wang Chang-Gung Charity Trust were invited by Chiayi County Government to attend the "2022 Supply Bank Sends Love, Love to Share Event" at 10:30 A.M. on August 25 (Thursday). FPG and Wang Chang-Gung Charity Trust were represented by Director Hsu-Hui Tsai of Chiayi Administration Department of Formosa Chemicals & Fibre Corporation, who received the letter of appreciation from Chiayi County Magistrate Chang-Liang Weng.

Expanding assistance for underprivileged children and families in eight counties and cities

Following instructions from Executive Member Ruey-Yu Wang of FPG Executive Management Committee, who is also the chairperson of Wang Chang-Gung Charity Trust. FPG, Wang Chang-Gung Charity Trust, and CHING PAO P.D. Charitable Foundation implemented the "Development Support Program for Children and Teenagers from Vulnerable Families" together with New Taipei City Government Social Affairs Bureau in 2015, in order to provide children from vulnerable families with stable care. The program subsidizes the expenses of children under the age of 12 for going to school and as they grow up. The project was expanded in 2019 due to its excellent results, and is working with 7 counties/cities (New Taipei City, Taoyuan City, Kaohsiung City, Changhua County, Yilan County, Hualien County, and Chiayi County. As of 2022, the project has donated NT$56.36 million and benefited 7,281 people. Underprivileged families living in Ankang and Fumin Low-Income Housing in Taipei City became eligible for subsidies in the second half of 2022, helping children enjoy a stable life and learning.

Implementing "aging in place," "healthy aging," and "happy aging"

FPG and Wang Chang-Gung Charity Trust upholds the concept to promote social welfare, care for the well-being of community residents, and letting locals serve locals. We implemented the "Love Health and Mutual Assistance Volunteer Promotion Project" in rural communities in Yunlin and Chiayi through collaboration with CHING PAO P.D. Charitable Foundation and Chang Gung University of Science and Technology in 2019. The project integrates the professional knowledge and abundant resources of companies, local governments, schools, and communities across fields, establishes a training model and base for love health and mutual assistance volunteer services, and allows organizations to share resources of a smart long-term care assistance system platform. As of 2022, the project has established 11 training bases in communities, organized training in 61 community locations, recruited 1,161 volunteers, and provided community and home care services 58,707 person-times.
Results of the "Love Health and Mutual Assistance Volunteer Promotion Project" can already be seen in community care services in Chiayi County. Hence, in the "2022 Supply Bank Sends Love, Love to Share Event," the love health and mutual assistance volunteer team not only received a letter of appreciation, the director of the Department of Social Welfare specially invited 3 volunteers to play the saxophone when signing in and during the meal, showing the use of music therapy by the project to distinguished guests.

Continued implementation of numerous projects to care for the disadvantaged

Furthermore, FPG and Wang Chang-Gung Charity Trust planned different programs based on local needs, in order to take care of underprivileged people around Taiwan, such programs include the "Establishment of Food Bank Sharing Park" (serves underprivileged families and promotes the concept of cherishing food and surplus food), "Orphan Scholarship Program (assists children who have lost one or both parents to stably go to school)," "Underprivileged Junior High School Student Nutritious Breakfast Project (collaborated with junior high schools in rural areas to provide breakfast for underprivileged students, so that they can focus on their studies)," "Rural Area English Proficiency Improvement Project," "Junior High School Skills Education Project," and "Homeless Services Project." The trust strives to provide proper care for all people in the surrounding environment, and spread love to rural areas and places that need care.
