Lin Yun-Ju, a skilled table tennis player, won the bronze medal in the mixed doubles event (with partner Cheng I-Ching) at the Tokyo Olympics and placed fourth in men's singles. Lin Yun-Ju wished to express his gratitude to the Wang Jhan-Yang Charitable Trust and set aside time after the quarantine period for returning to Taiwan between the National Games and the Europe-an Championships to visit Formosa Plastics. He visited the Formosa Plastics Group Building at 11 a.m. on September 7 (Tuesday) with his father Lin Hsueh-I to thank Wong Wen-Yuan, Chairman of Formosa Plastics Group and Chairman of the Wang Jhan-Yang Charitable Trust. As Mr. Wong was otherwise occupied, they were greeted by Mr. Wilfred Wang, an Executive Member of the FPG Executive Management Committee and a Consulting Member of the Wang Jhan-Yang Charitable Trust.
Seven Years of Strong Support for Lin Yun-Ju
Lin Yun-Ju and his father expressed their gratitude to the President Mr. Wong and Executive Member Mr. Wilfred Wang for their long-term sup-port. Formosa began sponsoring Lin Yun-Ju in 2015 when he was only 13 years old. The seven years of sponsorship has become a strong support for Lin Yun-Ju's continuous improvement and the results of his training has paid off. He has won many international games and repeatedly beaten the top 10 players in the world rankings. He now ranks 5th in the world. The Tokyo Olympics marks Lin Yun-Ju's debut in the Olympics where he won the bronze medal in mixed doubles and fourth place in men’s singles. He has unlimited potential for future development and he aims to work even harder to achieve better results.
Transforming Gratitude into Power for Improvement and Better Re-sults
Lin Yun-Ju has traveled extensively for games in different countries across the world. Despite the cancellations and postponement of international games due to the COVID-19 epidemic in the past 2 years, Lin Yun-Ju has remained resolved to improve his game through continuous training in Tai-wan. Lin Yun-Ju and his father Lin Hsueh-I used this opportunity to visit the Formosa Plastics Group Building to express their gratitude and share their experience and thoughts on winning the Olympics bronze medal, training, and matches.
Lin Yun-Ju said “I will play in the finals of the upcoming National Games and European Championships and I hope to continue to improve during this period. I hope I can achieve better results in more future games to thank Formosa for its support.”
His father Mr. Lin also said “We are very grateful for Formosa's long-term support. The timely support for Yun-Ju when he was still young made it possible for him to improve and compete on the global stage. We feel noth-ing but gratitude.”
Aim for Greater Achievements on the International Stage
Mr. Wilfred Wang praised Lin Yun-Ju’s performance and training, and hoped that he can achieve even better results. He also reminded Yun-Ju that “You must pay close attention to your health. You need to get enough sleep and never tire yourself out or stay up too late. Table tennis is a sport that re-quires focus and coordination of the entire body. You must not force your-self to play when you don’t feel well. You must also be careful and avoid in-juries. If you experience problems, get checked as early as possible.”
Yun-Ju prepared a Lin Yun-Ju Super ZLC blade produced by Butterfly with his personal signature as a gift for the President Mr. Wong Wen-Yuan and the Executive Member Mr. Wilfred Wang. Mr. Wilfred Wang also presented Lin Yun-Ju and his father with a gift set of general products produced by Formosa Biomedical Technology Corporation as well as Brinouva UV LED Portable Air Disinfectors and Handy Air Disinfectors produced by NKFG Corporation. The products will help Yun-Ju overcome the epidemic and stay healthy as he plays in matches across the world. We hope that we can soon see Yun-Ju shine on the international stage.
