[Giving people dignity is truly helping them] FPG and Ching Pao P.D. Charitable Foundation – Home Improvement Program for Elderly People

FPG and Ching Pao P.D. Charitable Foundation collaborated with the Foundation for the Welfare of the Elderly in implementing the Home Improvement Program for Elderly People, which aims to improve the safety of homes and quality of life for economically disadvantaged elderly people, so that elderly people who need help will have a safe environment to live in.

Starting in 2011, FPG and Ching Pao Charitable Trust Fund donated over NT$90 million to implement elderly housing improvement projects in rural areas of Taitung County, Taoyuan City, Pingtung County, Chiayi County, Hualien County, Yunlin County, Yilan County, Hsinchu County, Changhua County, Miaoli County, Nantou County, New Taipei City, Taichung City, Tainan City, and Kaohsiung City. The projects combine local social welfare organizations, vendors, occupational therapists, social workers, and social affairs bureaus (departments) of county/city governments. Social workers, vendors, and occupational therapists make home visits and carry out appraisals. Construction is carried out after passing review. The projects have assisted over 800 households in completing home renovations and improved the living environment of many elderly people, improving their safety at home to reduce accidents.
