[Happy Mailiao] A rural area suitable for living in

Yunlin once had the highest mortality rate from liver disease in the country. Chang Gung University of Science and Technology (CGUST) began providing local elderly people with health concepts and knowledge of exercise in 2010. After seven years of efforts, the prevalence of hepatitis C in Mailiao and Taixi Townships decreased from 20% to 11%.

Chen Mei-Yen, Dean of the College of Nursing, CGUST hoped that: "Mailiao will give people happiness and be healthy and suitable for living like Bhutan."
